FESTIVAL SELECTION filmā – Tilda Svintone un viņas meita Onora Svintone Bērna (biļetes tirdzniecībā!)
In an exclusive screening, FESTIVAL SELECTION will feature the british auteur Joanna Hogg’s film ‘The Souvenir’ – an enigmatic and deeply personal story taking place on the backdrop of London in the early 1980s. The leading roles are played by Tilda Swinton, the world-famous diva with androgynous image, and her daughter Honor Swinton Byrne, this being her on-screen debut. The film received the prestigious Sundance World Cinema Dramatic prize.
The partly–autobiographical work, depicting the Swinton Byrne’s Julie starting her studies at a film school, emphasises the female gaze and portrays how complicated the nature of relationships is. Quoting Tom Burke’s Anthony, the film invites the audience to “see life as it is experienced.” This is the fourth feature film from the celebrated and multi-award-winning British auteur Joanna Hogg. One of the film’s executive producers is Martin Scorsese.
As a reminder, tickets are on sale for the only screening of the Cannes ’72 winner ‘Parasite’, Gints Zilbalodis sensational Annecy’s Contrachamp winner ‘Away’, as well as Latvia–shot ‘Dogs Don’t Wear Pants’, revealing the protagonist’s complicated interrelation with BDSM.
