Lighthouse examines the dark impulses of hardscrabble men embroiled in a complex game of power dynamics. \u201cNothing good can happen when two men are left alone in a giant phallus,\u201d Eggers remarks. The film won the FIPRESCI Cannes Film Festival critics\u2019 award for best first or second features in Directors\u2019 Fortnight and Critics Week.<\/p>\n<p>Following <i>The Witch\u2019s<\/i> smash debut at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, the instant horror classic catapulted Eggers to the front ranks of American auteurs.
