Marking the world premiere of the entire musically educational short animated series\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rigaiff.lv\/en\/screenings-2024\/brinumskapis\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/rigaiff.lv\/en\/screenings-2024\/brinumskapis&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1727775505484000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2T1ksWBkwE8kq30tHFnBF2\"><i>The Magic Wardrobe<\/i><\/a>, the five films, from director Krista Bur\u0101ne and the creative team, will invite the youngest members of the audience on a song-filled journey, based on the popular song series by Aigars Voiti\u0161\u0137is, with lyrics by P\u0113teris Br\u016bveris, M\u0101ra Z\u0101l\u012bte, and Ieva Samauska. Mirroring the themes of Michael Ende\u2019s\u00a0<i>Neverending Story<\/i>, the screen adaptation of the popular Dutch novel\u00a0<i>The Book of Everything<\/i>\u00a0(2004) conjures a fascinating child\u2019s fantasy flight. The impactful, vivid, and respectful adaptation of the gem of children\u2019s literature \u2013\u00a0<i>Ronja, The Robber\u2019s Daughter<\/i>, in a thrilling tradition of outlaw movies expertly combines both childish joy and the Nordic humour and irony bound to appeal to parents.<\/p>\n<p>For the first time, the festival programme will include an anime film \u2013 visually astounding, eccentric, and heartfelt animation\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rigaiff.lv\/en\/films-2024\/spoku-kakis-anzu\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/rigaiff.lv\/en\/films-2024\/spoku-kakis-anzu&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1727775505484000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0LDtWey1_wtKZg9G92I98s\"><i>Ghost Cat Anzu<\/i><\/a>, for audiences of ages 7 and up, and fans of the genre. The Latvian-dubbed film, a story about friendship that has the power to change our future, draws parallels with such 21-st century animation classics as\u00a0<i>Spirited Away<\/i>\u00a0(2001) by Japanese master Hayao Miyazaki and other legendary Studio Ghibli films.
