RIGA IFF has the pleasure to host this year’s meeting of the Members of the European Film Academy Short Film Network.<\/p>\n

Ever since the European Film Academy was founded it has been its intention not only to honour the outstanding achievements of established filmmakers, but also to support and promote short films, often made by talented newcomers. From 1998 onwards, the European Film Academy included the European Short Film category at the annual European Film Awards. Recent winners of this prestigious award are Ur\u0161ka Djuki\u0107 & \u00c9milie Pigeard\u2019s Granny\u2019s Sexual Life<\/i>\u00a0(2022), Olga Lucovnicova\u2019s My Uncle Tudor<\/i>\u00a0(2021) and Lasse Linder\u2019s All Cats are Grey in the Dark<\/i>\u00a0(2020).<\/p>\n

The nominees for the European Short Film are chosen by the members of the European Film Academy Short Film Network. This pan-European network currently includes a total of 30 festivals with an international short film competition, as well as renowned international short film festivals in 23 European countries. Each festival selects one short film candidate for the annual European Film Awards.
