Baltic music video competition or, as we usually call it, #BMV strives to prove that the music video is a powerful short format on its own right. We strongly believe it can be a piece of art in addition or even independently from serving as a “TV commercial” for the music. The curators look for videos that challenge the audience and push the borders of the format, content and art direction while striving for increased harmony between the audio and the video aspects of the piece.
#BMV celebrates its 4th anniversary this year. There are 16 music videos selected and, as usual, the programme consists of works that were created during the last year in the Baltic states – Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The stylistic range of these videos is wide and wild. We have extravaganza, we have imagination, we have nostalgia and even futuristic ideas that are all represented in these videos. #BMV treats a music video as a self-sufficient work of art that can reflect the changes in the world around us.
The curated programme will be presented on October 26 at 20:30 in ‘’Tu jau zini Kur’’, making the last Friday of the festival a night to remember. The #BMV screening is a meeting platform of the video-makers, music-makers, curators, the international jury and the audience. Join us!
