For the first time in its history, the Riga International Film Festival will open its awards ceremony, RIGA IFF AWARDS, up to the public. After countless big screen adventures, the festival culminates by bringing together the filmmakers of the nominated films, the local and international juries, and now also a wider audience – a total of 84 films will compete for the festival’s awards this year in seven categories. The ceremony will take place at the home of RIGA IFF – the Splendid Palace cinema – on 21 October, the second-to-last day of the festival. The ceremony will start at 20:30 (arrival from 20:00).

The ceremony will be directed by the young actors and directors Gerds Lapošks and Matīss Ozols and hosted by Kaspars Dumburs, a film and theatre actor based at the Daile Theatre in Riga.
