Vladimir Leschiov’s Comeback, screened in competition at this year’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival, is at once literal and figurative regarding its titular description of “coming back”. It is an experienced, message-laden and concise memory of the artist’s childhood and winter motifs, brought to life in watercolours.
