One day, eleven-year-old Lake discovers that his seemingly tough sister longs for intimacy and love. Catching a glimpse of her fragility beneath all the hate and anger, he attempts to make her feel better.
“The more we are willing to understand each other’s pain, the more we are able to understand our own pain. There’s nothing more intimate in life than being understood,” says the film’s director, Kanne Vee. Originally from China, she studied directing and screenwriting at Columbia University and fashion at the London College of Fashion and is now seeking to explore a cinema that gives space to intimacy, empathy and subtle gesture.
