Poetry born out of the spirit of sound hatches and crackles before your eyes. Textual passages driven and made audible by voices that are powered by various electromechanical tuning devices. Four dark, poetic characters turned sound engineers convert them with effects processors, while the accompanying sounds take shape in front of your eyes out of poem rhythms and intonations.
The four members of the poetry and multimedia art collective Orbita, Artur Punte, Vladimir Svetlov, Sergej Timofejev, and Alexander Zapol, become editors, deciding what we see and hear. Created as a video performance, the sound in this work is created on the spot using water pumps, ventilators, solenoids, electromagnets, springs, and many other parts and units.
Foreword by the programme curator: The Orbīta collective’s shared experience of words and images becomes part of a collection of audiovisual experiences. What began as a record of a process has evolved into independent works of art.
