Playful dialogue and energetic rhythm come together in a tribute to the district of Södermalm in Stockholm, creating a fresco of the daily life and experiences of its local inhabitants. During a number of sweltering summer evenings, we get to know several confused characters who have just fallen in love or just broken up. One is faced with the dilemma of whether to answer an ex’s phone call on a date with another girl, while another is wracking his brains about the status of his relationship. In the end, all are united by the desire for intimacy and having someone next to them, whatever form it may take.

Måns Nyman has taken a creative approach to writing the script for his first full-length film, enlisting the help of Swedish rapper Kristoffer Malmsten. Their collaboration has resulted in a musical experiment where the dialogue is adapted to the score, without missing a chance to hide pop references in the urban setting. This is not surprising, as the director started out in his career making music videos for Swedish musician Zara Larsson. The cast includes other rising Swedish hip-hop artists, who keep the rhymes flowing while leaving space to recognise themselves in the characters.
