With virtual reality photographic maps, the ability to walk around different corners of the world has become something commonplace. These maps are at once a historical artefact and a reminder of a time that no longer exists. Since 2014, the ongoing war in Ukraine has taken on the form of hybrid warfare and representations on social media. Grenoble-born filmmaker Marie Chemin traces the footsteps of the bicycle’s owner Andrei and muses about our obsession with the consumption of digital images and the easy accessibility of information through the cinematic essay format of new media.
