Through wavy backgrounds and distinctive colours, director Klemet sharply encompasses the hopes and pitfalls of a couple without any dialogue. There’s a marvellous sense of conveying emotions with an eye for details, which never feels self-indulgent. Yummy won the Short Riga Test Screenings Award in 2023, and the jury rightfully praised its “strong visuals, dark comedy” and how a love story “finishes in a tin of dog food”. Bon appétit!
