Mini-series follow the life of a family of city intellectuals during the course of one summer in the 1920s, who are unexpectedly given a remote manor-house with all its unusual inhabitants and have to decide what to do with the dilapidated property. Exciting and comic events unfold over eight episodes as the budding writer Anšlavs Eglītis, together with his brother Vidvuds, father Viktors and father’s wife Hilda, begin the restoration of the manor, while at the same time decide to open a boarding house. Boarding house at the manor ultimately becomes the crossroads of the neighborhood, a ghost of the past, and a meeting point and summer stage of the locals and the visiting city intellectuals.

Marta Elīna Martinsone is a film and theater director. She has created and co-created five independent performances, directed three short films and her graduation film Viestur Kairish Comes Out of the Woods (2018) has received the National film award for Best Student film. Her debut feature film Lame-os (2021) received the National film award for Best Debut. She also directs music videos and works as a script consultant and writer.
Inese Boka-Grūbe is a partner and producer at the Latvian film production company Mistrus Media, working in the production field since 2005 on feature documentaries, fiction films co-productions and service production projects. Inese is also a PhD student at the Latvian Academy of Culture, research field – reception of historical films. Member of ACE Producers and EAVE Networks, Member of the European Film Academy. Recently released films include feature drama January (2022) by Viesturs Kairišs awarded the Best International Narrative at the Tribeca Film Festival 2022 and Natural Light (2021) by Dénes Nagy, awarded the Silver Bear for the Best Director at Berlinale 2021.
