Atom Art is an independent, award-winning animation studio based in Riga, Latvia. Established in 2001, Atom Art has focused on two main areas: creating high-quality content for children’s audiences across various formats, including shorts, TV series, TV specials, and feature-length animated films, as well as producing short author films. Atom Art often serves as a platform for young, talented animators. In recent years, the studio has produced and co-produced a diverse range of films such as In the End (2023), Hush Hush Little Bear (2022, premiered at Berlinale), Misaligned (2022, premiered at Locarno), Guard of Honour (2021, featured at Clermont-Ferrand), Jacob, Mimmi and the Talking Dogs (2019). Currently, their second feature-length film Born in the Jungle is in post-production.
Sabīne Andersone is the managing director of the animation studio Atom Art and a producer with nearly 20 years of experience across various genres and formats of animated films, including artistic animation shorts, pre-school series, TV specials, and feature films. Her award-winning productions have been screened at festivals worldwide, such as Berlinale, Annecy, Ottawa, Hiroshima, Stuttgart, Zagreb, and Clermont-Ferrand, among others. She is also a co-founder and currently the Head of the Latvian Animation Association and a member of the European Film Academy.
Agne Skane is a film industry professional with a background in feature films and documentaries. Since 2014, she has worked as a line producer at VFS Films studio and has been involved in the production of several award-winning documentary and feature projects. In 2022, she took on a new professional challenge by joining Atom Art, one of Latvia’s leading animation studios, to start producing artistic animation projects for both children and adults. But to keep up the professional diversity, from time to time as a line producer she rejoins some exciting non-animation projects.
