RebelFrame is an Estonian film studio focused on animated film and documentary production. It is run by producer and documentary director Kadriann Kibus together with animation director Sergo Kibus. The studio currently has a slate of animated shorts as well as several long-form projects in different stages of development and production. RebelFrame works with a variety of traditional stop-motion techniques, such as cut-out, painted animation, and puppet animation, alongside drawn animation, digital 2D, and 3D. The studio also has a black-box space equipped for techniques ranging from cut-out to painted animation. Over the years, RebelFrame has built long-term relationships with local talent and continues to welcome international co-productions.

Kadriann Kibus is an Estonian animation producer and documentary director. She currently has a feature-length documentary in post-production and several animated films in development or production. Among them, an animated anthology series Adult Bedtime Stories by Kaspar Jancis and Natalia Mirzoyan’s award-winning animated short Winter in March (2025). In 2024, Kadriann was one of the10 up-and-coming producers invited to take part in the Festival de Cannes Cinema de Demain New Producers’ Room initiative.
Sergo Kibus is an animation director, writer, DOP, and the creative director of Rebel Frame. He holds degrees in photography and audiovisual media, as well as an MA in Asian Studies with focus on Chinese indie animation and Japanese cyberpunk. As an academic lecturer he has held courses in animation, scriptwriting, and photography. His breakthrough as a director was an award-winning animated short Teofrastus (2019, Nukufilm). In 2022, he directed a stop-motion horror short The Undertaker. His new film Schrödinger, done in oil painted animation, is currently in pre-production.
