We search for places, things, and people, and often places, things, and people find us. A unique contemporary dance and architecture anthology project, created by teams from five countries – Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, France, and Ukraine –, taking us through nine architectural zones and objects.
The scenography of these nine dance short films, captured in cinematic language, is architecture that knows no genre or formal conventions. From the ocean shores of Brittany to contemporary buildings, from the avant-garde of modernism in Vilnius to collectively forgotten buildings of the past. In this short film cycle, bodies clash with context, movement meets static planes and rooftops, algae encounters concrete, and social norms collide with landscapes carved, fought-for, and painted by nature.
Humankind has never been anything more – we are destined for movement and advancement, and dance and moving images are only a natural union.
Foreword by the programme curator: The lines of bodies and buildings merge into one, enveloped by light and sound. It is a dialogue filled with love.
