Chintis Lundgren studied painting at an alternative art school that by the time of her graduation had become a branch of the Estonian Academy of Arts, Academia Grata. During a period of creative crisis, she self-educated herself in animation. This interest turned out to be the artist’s true calling, highly appreciated by audiences and professional critics internationally now. Her films are screened and awarded at film festivals all over the world.
Characters of her animated comedies are animals with features and habits characteristic to people – all kinds of birds, absinth-drunk rabbits, an educated adult male fox who still lives with his single mother, a sophisticated female cat who falls for the bad guys, a sexy wolf – a master of odd jobs, a father and a pansexual gigolo…
Characters, whose virtues and vices let the audience laugh at themselves and their peers, inhabit a space of playful and quite darkly humorous absurd dramas and social satire. Currently the talented director works on an unprecedented project for the Baltic countries – an animation series for adults.
