Political student Jan believes that people are selfish by nature. Biology student Jule, however, thinks that people are fundamentally kind and sociable, so she offers Jan a lift in her old “303”camper van. They are both heading towards the Atlantic: Jan to Spain, and Jule to her boyfriend in Portugal. They only plan to travel as far as Cologne together, but with every passing mile, they discover more about each other’s lives. Director Hans Weingartner sends his “303” protagonists on an exciting road trip across Europe, striking the nerve of the times in his dialogues. Socio-political depth and a tender love story meld into a captivating, light-handed, profoundly moving boy-meets-girl story.
