As Riga International Film Festival will feature the Latvian premiere of Cat on My Mind (2026), a feature film by Latvian director Laila Pakalniņa, photo exhibition Photographs From Series No. 179 by brilliant director of photography, Gints Bērziņš, shall be held in the first-floor foyer.

As director of photography and photographer Bērziņš himself explains, he created the series as a cheering tribute to his peers, friends, acquaintances and people met by chance at the film set or elsewhere: “Well, we aren’t here to have it easy, aren’t we?” Therefore, each “moment of slight happiness” is worth being documented in a photograph.

Photos selected for this exhibition reflect portraits and other moments captured both during the shooting of Cat on My Mind and the upcoming fiction by Pakalniņa, Whisper in the Cellar.
