Soviet Union, 1941: amidst the mass execution of Jews the entire family of a 6-year-old Anna dies. Her mother covers Anna up with her own body, and the girl survives. She hides in the chimney in the Nazi commander’s office - without food or water, in solitude and fear. The threat of discovery is constant. So begins a story of the struggle for life that lasts for over two years. The new feature from Russian auteur Aleksey Fedorchenko with a phenomenal performance by child actress Marta Kozlova. The story of a war in which a little Jewish girl prevails - an ode to the resilience and ingenuity of children. Previous Fedorchenko's feature films have received numerous nominations and awards at international film festivals.
