Online players try to repel a zombie invasion in a video game. The fight is not made easy, thanks to the presence of a newcomer in the pack. Chaos ensues.
Aim. Shoot. Live. Die. Repeat. Die. Inside the freedom of moving through a virtual world, online gaming is a ritual, a collective effort, a bonding thing. Director Andžejevska turns what goes wrong into a slapstick comedy – the doors you’re supposed to open, the gun you’re not supposed to fire. The dynamics of gamers together, or how they indeed “stop panicking and avoiding reality”, is also satirized with deadpan humour.
