A computer screen. Tevi is 21. Notifications from the bank pop up on the screen. She’s writing the 31st draft of her screenplay. Stuck in writing her graduation film, she plunges into a series of frantic projections and meets countless versions of herself at 31. The avatars offer another life, another set of choices, another possible self.
A playful animated miniature about growing up, generational unease, and the impossible longing to know at the age of 21 who you will be. Although nothing changes at 31 (nor at other ages), directors Chum, Mathieu and Wu offer an endless simulation of the anxiety of (not) knowing. Yes – just like for the protagonist, this film is also the graduation project for its directing trio from the École des Métiers du Cinéma d’Animation in Angoulême.
