Tom Grater joined Deadline in 2019 as part of its expanding international team to cover the film and TV industry. He is a regular at film markets and festivals around the world. Grater was previously at Screen International for five years, rising to Senior Reporter of the magazine’s print and online operations. He has also worked in events and as a freelance journalist for national newspapers in the UK.
Julia Fidel is the Head of Berlinale Co-Pro Series. She is a film and festival professional and has been working with the Berlinale Film Festival since 2006. She has worked for Berlinale Generation as moderator, author, project manager and member of the selection committee. Fidel’s experience ranges from primary research and casting to assistant directing, distribution and publicity, where she has worked for various projects and talents.
Xavier Rashid has run Film Republic since 2012, a film sales company based in London that handles arthouse feature films by auteurs and the next generation of master filmmakers. Additionally, Rashid has worked with assessing projects (scripts/finance plans) submitted to Mannheim Meeting Place since 2015. Until 2011, he was the Executive Director of the Raindance Film Festival and worked in acquisitions for Taskovski Films.
Gabrielle Rozing joined Fortissimo Films in 2006, first as assistant to the MD, later in several functions in sales and finance, and as a producer liaison. She also worked at the innovative VOD platform Ximon and as a film programmer for Filmtheater ‘t Hoogt in Utrecht before becoming General Manager of Fortissimo Films in 2017. Rozing works closely with Fortissimo’s Beijing office and handles sales and acquisitions to Europe and Latin America.
Ilkka Matila is one of the most prolific film producers in Finland. He has produced 23 feature films, numerous shorts, serial dramas and documentaries over the past 30 years. Matila is a member of the European Film Academy, ACE Producers Network, the European Producers Club and Co-Owner of the production company Matila Röhr Productions.
