LAST CURONIAN COW

The summer season is coming to an end, tourists on the Curonian Spit chase the last sun, while Juzė, the peninsula’s last remaining cow, is loaded onto a cattle truck and begins her journey towards the mainland. Along the way, she watches landscapes shaped by centuries of coexistence between people and nature slowly give way to a new way of life. Only chance encounters with familiar faces and places slow the truck and prolong Juzė’s farewell to home.

DOVYDAS DRAKŠAS

Director

Dovydas Drakšas is a Lithuanian writer-director and graduate of the London Film School. His latest short film Praeis (2024) had its world premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival La Cinef competition. His work portrays people and places on the edge of disappearance, exploring themes of memory, identity, displacement, and the uneasy transformations of modern life.

Producer

Greta Akcijonaitė is a Lithuanian producer and co-founder of Magic Film, focusing on internationally oriented fiction and documentary projects. Her recent productions include Sujip (2025, Silver Crane Award winner) and Left-Handed Pen (2024, Silver Crane Award winner, EFA Prix Vimeo nominee). Her current slate includes feature films, documentaries and international co-productions.
