MY WORLD UPSIDE DOWN

In a conservative Slovak village, clumsy altar boy Miško (11) idolizes his perfect brother Lukáš (17) and secretly loves his girlfriend, Linda. Discovering Lukáš is gay, Miško vows to “save him from hell.” He asks fellow altar boys how to fight “gayness” without saying why, leading them to conclude Miško is the gay one. Denials only feed the rumour, leaving Miško ostracized. With only Linda and a silent Jesus by his side, can they overcome the village’s prejudice together?

DANIEL RIHÁK

Director

Daniel Rihák is a Slovak director and VŠMU Bratislava graduate. His award-winning short The Trip was shortlisted for the BAFTA Student Film Awards and won the national IGRIC Award for Best Director. After directing for prime-time TV, he is now developing his feature debut, My World Upside Down.

MARTINA SAKOVÁ

Producer

Martina Saková studied film directing in VŠMU Bratislava and Babelsberg. Her director-producer feature debut, Summer Rebels, won the German Film Critics Prize and screened at 30+ festivals. She is currently developing My World Upside Down and her second feature Lovebots.
