What is a music video? We ask this every year to rediscover the ever-evolving landscape where the untamed spirit of interaction between image and music comes to life.
For this unique regional competition, the festival selects bold, innovative, and experimental music videos from the Baltic states – works that challenge audiences and continually push the boundaries of form, content, and artistic expression.
An internationally renowned jury will present the winner with the Bronze Rooster award and prizes from RIGA IFF friends.
Entries
The competition programme includes music videos completed no earlier than 1 June 2025.
Only official music videos are eligible for the competition. No running time restrictions apply.
Works are eligible for submission if they meet at least one of the following three criteria: the director, the performer of the musical work, or a representative of the creative team is from Lithuania, Latvia, or Estonia.
Music videos produced or co-produced in the Russian Federation and Belarus, or created with the involvement of representatives from these countries, will not be accepted.
Prize
The selected music videos are judged by an international jury consisting of music video directors, curators of music video competitions at international festivals, musicians, music journalists, and music event managers. It will present the winner with the Bronze Rooster award and prizes from RIGA IFF friends.
The RIGA IFF award ceremony will take place on 24 October, the second Saturday of the festival.
Deadline
Submissions for the competition open on 28 April 2026 and close on 30 June.
No submission fee applies.
The results will be announced by 10 September 2026.
