SHORT RIGA Test Screenings Announce First Experts and Reveal This Year’s Prize
Aug 11, 2022
This year’s SHORT RIGA Test Screenings are back on-site in Riga on 20 – 22 October! For the first time, the Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF) is announcing a special guest country to join filmmakers from the Baltic States for three days of short film project development, networking, and receiving valuable insight from industry professionals: Ukraine!
This event is dedicated to Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, and Ukrainian short film directors who are eager to learn and expand their creative horizons. For the eighth consecutive year, 10 to 14 emerging filmmakers will present their short films to a panel of international experts in closed screenings that are followed by an evaluation, and recommendations for finishing the film, or suggestions on how to best submit it to festivals.
The winner of this year’s SHORT RIGA Test Screenings will be awarded a prize of post-production services worth 3,000 EUR from BBPostHouse. The first experts on the international expert panel are Inga Diev (Ouat Media, Canada), Lorenza Tuan (ShortsTV, United Kingdom), Ben Vandendaele (Radiator IP Sales, Belgium), Armands Začs (film director and editor, Latvia).
This year’s event at RIGA IFF is looking for short film projects that have recently been completed, or are in the final stages of production (rough cut – up to 40′; finished films – up to 30’). A variety of techniques and genres are accepted.
SHORT RIGA Test Screenings will take place on 20 – 22 October, 2022 on-site in Riga.
