The world of the future. A young girl flees, trying to escape the ever-present eyes of the camera – the “Truman Show”, but powered by the Japanese cultural term “mono no aware”, or, “an empathy toward things”.
Currently based in France, Kajika Aki Ferrazzini’s senseless tragedy is lyrical yet strongly influenced by Japanese anime in its visuality. “Mom” is her directorial debut and was a contender in the main competition of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
