Something that is individual can as well be impersonal. It may be the most common of the days with the most mundane events – commute, work, commute, life. The most average person is both no one specific and someone really specific, devoting all of himself to the passage of each day. It deprives him from his name, moments of rest and authenticity, and gives him dissatisfaction and dullness instead.
If we are a structure, what would our daily profile look like? The short film by Finnish director Väinö Koljonen explores the everyday rhythms, textures, directions and forms, giving them the shape of a structure running in idle. Using Super 8 and 16 mm cameras he has given metaphorical anonymity to the age of the working days. As the director explains, the film is “poetic-truist look at a world that is organizing its time, until it is no more. The world, where responsibility is only an excuse, the world where only miracles exist in your wallet. Maybe our time is up?”.
