Eleven short film projects – 3 animations and 8 fictions – of which 55% are made by female directors have been selected for the 2023 edition of SHORT RIGA Test Screenings.
During two pitching sessions on 20 and 21 October projects will be presented to the industry experts – Catherine Colas (ZDF / Arte, Germany), Pascale Faure (L’Œil en plus, France), Marie-Pauline Mollaret (La Semaine de la Critique, Festival de Cannes, France) and Sydney Neter (SND Films, the Netherlands) – who will provide in-depth, professional feedback and notes to boost chances for film’s successful festival run.
This year the guest country – Norway – will join the participants from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania to compete for a prize of post-production services worth 5,000 EUR, provided by our partners BB Posthouse.
The curators of SHORT RIGA Test Screenings would like to thank all the applicants. This has been a very strong year for fiction shorts featuring a wide range of subtle yet sticking narratives. And we would like to salute the Latvian participants as their submissions have doubled this year!
All of SHORT RIGA Test Screening events – pitching training, project pitching sessions and one-to-one meetings – will take place at cinema Kino Bize, and will be open to all RIGA IFF industry pass holders. Apply here.
