Here you can immerse yourself in our brief but rich history. Additionally, video recordings of the most engaging public events, discussions, lectures and interviews have been compiled here.

RIGA IFF takes place from 15 to 25 October in an unprecedented format – both in person as well as online and accessible all over Latvia. The festival opens with a cine-concert screening of the newly restored feature film “Where is the Truth?!” from 1913 accompanied by original music composed for this event. A total of 129 films screen in the festival program.

“Conference” (dir. Ivan I. Tverdovsky, RU) wins the main RIGA IFF prize in the FEATURE FILM COMPETITION; “Symbiosis” (dir. Nadja Andrasev, FR) wins the SHORT RIGA International Competition and “II Lines” wins the National Competition (dir. Alise Zariņa, LV). The short film ” Push This Button if You Begin to Panic” (dir. Gabriel Böhmer, UK) becomes the nominee for the European Film Awards.

For the first time this year, all RIGA IFF FORUM industry events take place only online, bringing together film industry professionals from all over the world: Magnetic Series explores series production in the Baltic and Nordic regions, while Green Charter seeks solutions for sustainable and climate-friendly filmmaking. Additionally, a record number of accredited international delegates are provided with the opportunity to watch 32 of the latest Latvian films online.
