With open eyes and an open mind, the festival looks back at the history of cinema as well as on what is happening today. This programme brings the creative explorations of a wide range of talented and brave directors together in one place. Some films have been wrongly overlooked, while others have become golden cinema classics.
This year’s focus is on a century of cinema shaped by the Rossellini-Bergman family and will include films that Italian neorealist director Roberto Rossellini (1906-1977) made together with his wife, Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman (1915-1982), experimental roles their daughter, actress Isabella Rossellini (1952), has played in America and Europe, as well as documentary, thoughtful and playful cinematic portraits of and by this significant and influential film family.
