The RIGA IFF FORUM programme includes a series of film industry events dedicated to both experienced industry professionals, as well as students and young filmmakers. Every year, RIGA IFF FORUM hosts a variety of lectures, discussions, presentations, meetings, and networking events. With a strong focus on creating new cooperations and strengthening existing ties, the festival’s industry section encompasses short and feature film as well as series’ production, and paves the way to creating partnerships.
Market for upcoming feature films and series from Eastern and Central Europe
Selection committee of RIGA IFF Showcase hand-picks 10 to 15 film and series’ projects that are pitched to an audience of international and local buyers as well as a jury. After the pitching session, one-to-one meetings take place, providing opportunity for project representatives to meet with potential partners, buyers and festival representatives.
Completed work submitted for industry screenings will also be evaluated by a selection committee.
In-depth feedback for short films
The curators of SHORT RIGA Test Screenings select 10 to 14 promising short films that are split into two screenings held over two days. The films are evaluated by a commission of five experts that changes yearly so as to guarantee in-depth evaluations from different perspectives. The panel will have familiarised themselves with the projects in advance, but final feedback and evaluations will follow only after seeing the films on the big screen.
The participants have access to on-site pitching training prior to their presentations.
