Burkšaitis didn’t dive into film directing right after finishing school. Instead, he first studied computer science and then worked as a researcher and software systems engineer at Google, Barclays, and T-Mobile. After a few years, he decided to return to Lithuania and pursue my passion for film making. Last year, Burkšaitis graduated with a Master degree in film directing. His background in technology has given me a unique perspective and has influenced his work. Those personal experiences not only provide inspiration for stories, but also dictate the themes he explore. In his films, Burkšaitis aims to shed light on the effects of technology, the decline in personal interaction, and the loss of illusions.
