Legionary Youth is a feature length animated documentary that reconstructs the rise of fascism in inter-war Romania, and its tragic consequences.
The story intertwines a chronological summary of the events with Mihail Sebastian’s Jurnal – a Jewish Romanian author’s eyewitness account of the events. What makes Sebastian’s account so relevant is that, in parallel with society’s rightward slide, we see in his diary how his best friends also become radicalized.
