Anna Ansone (1993) studied at the National Film School in Riga and completed her postgraduate studies at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM). Her graduation film, Still Life (2020), was shown at numerous short film festivals and won the West-Art Jury prize at the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. In 2022, Can’t Help Myself (2022) won Best Short at Riga International Film Festival and screened at Rotterdam in 2023. Anna currently lives between Cologne and Riga, and Summer Blues is her debut feature shot on 16mm film.
Alise Gelze has been an active film producer since 2006, having successfully produced both features and short films. Among her most notable productions are Oleg (2019), directed by Juris Kursietis, which made its world premiere at Quinzaine des Réalisateurs; Mother, I Love You (2013), directed by Janis Nords, recipient of over 15 international and national awards, including the Berlinale – Generation KPlus International Jury Prize for Best Film; and Mellow Mud (2016), directed by Renars Vimba, which earned the Crystal Bear at Berlinale – Generation 14Plus. Currently, she heads her own production company, White Picture, with several features in development and post-production. Its inaugural feature co-productions, The Invisible Fight by Rainer Sarnet, premiered at the Locarno IFF in 2023, and Two Prosecutors by Sergey Loznitsa premiered at Cannes IFF in 2025—both shot in Latvia.
