When you go see a therapist who happens to be  a talking shrimp, things are not that easy. Cornelius The Dog tries to remember the events of him moving to a new place. In one version, he and his dog buddies and Avalutsa The Frog embarked on an adventure on a raft, eventually losing their cane baskets. Then he recalls the same situation differently: now the talkative frog is driving a car. And then another version – retelling the situation, he claims the frog has sold his books, computer and even his heart medication. Cornelius is a no puppy – this might as well be a toxic friendship, but he just wants to know what has happened to his life.

This is a transformation of comic aesthetics into the language of cinema. The directors’ duo, Cembe and Torices, play out a one-act show of psychoanalysis employing various aesthetics of the animation – the further the conversation between the patient and his therapist develops, the more grotesque and more unexpected each frame is toned and the fable evolves. Cembe is a Spanish animation director and artist, nominated for the Goya Awards, while Torices is an experienced animation filmmaker. His works usually depict darker and more socially and emotionally complex stories. The Catalan-language film uses storytelling to uncover the psychological abuse, twisting of the reality and ways of “curing” oneself from the resistance. Is it really true that the only way to become happy is by admitting that you were never right?
