Riga, 1988. As the USSR and Eastern Bloc leaders sense the end, Renars, shattered after his release from an asylum, discovers Tiina is staging a play based on their story. Realising she hasn’t forgotten him, he makes a risky deal with Maris for a jeans smuggling operation involving agents from other socialist countries. The mission reunites Renars, Tiina, and Maris in East Berlin, forcing them to confront life-altering choices and the question: will they outsmart the KGB, or be used by it?

Aija Bērziņa (Tasse Film) has been active as a producer since 2011. This year, her latest production, the 8-episode comedy-drama Soviet Jeans, received the Audience Award and Best Actor Award at Series Mania. Aija is a graduate of the EAVE Producers Workshop (2015) and Producers on the Move (2018).
Alise Peniga has been a junior producer at Tasse Film since 2023 and holds a degree in Audiovisual Arts Production. Her first produced short film won Best Student Film at the Latvian National Film Awards, and her graduation film Vacuum Cleaner Salesman premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival.
