PAPITO

After their eccentric father dies, two sisters face the absurd task of clearing his apartment, packed floor-to-ceiling with junk and unexpected treasures. What begins as a chore becomes an emotional excavation. As they sift through his stuff, Maria, the older sister, discovers his diary and confronts her lifelong longing to know if he loved them. Blending documentary, animation and dark humor, PAPITO is a tender but playful portrait of the imperfect ways we inherit love.

MARIA REINUP

Director

Maria Reinup is an Estonian filmmaker and screenwriter working across fiction, documentary and hybrid forms. She holds a Master’s degree in directing from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Her films have screened and received awards at international film festivals, as well as in Estonia. She has received the prestigious Kaljo Kiisk Award and an EFTA Award for Best Short Film. PAPITO is her fourth documentary.

Kadi Freja Felt is an Estonian film producer and Executive Producer/Partner at Get Shot Films. She has extensive experience in film, documentary and international commercial production. Felt previously produced the documentary NINJA, directed by Maria Reinup. PAPITO marks their second collaboration, continuing their shared interest in intimate, character-driven stories and emotionally resonant storytelling.
