Baltic Animation Meet-Up reveals the lineup of participating studios

The line-up of participating studios has been announced for the Baltic Animation Meet-Up, part of this year’s Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF, 16–26 October) industry programme RIGA IFF FORUM. Organised in close partnership with the National Film Centre of Latvia and the Latvian Animation Association, the event that takes place on 23 and 24 October, will spotlight the Baltic animation industry through a dedicated programme of presentations, case studies, and keynote talks and foster collaboration within the community.

The event’s main highlight – the Baltic animation studio presentations – will take place on 24 October, showcasing a curated line-up of 12 leading studios from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. Through engaging presentations, studio representatives will share their creative visions and offer an exclusive preview of upcoming projects. Lineup of participants include Atom Art, Animācijas Brigāde, Ego Media and Studija Kokles from Latvia, Lithuanian Akis bado, Art Shot, Broomfilms and Kadrų Skyrius, as well as Estonia-based AAA Creative, A Film Estonia, Nukufilms and RebelFrame.

in addition, attendees and participants of the Baltic Animation Meet-Up will have the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look through exciting case studies from Latvian and Czech animation – Dog of God (Dieva suns, 2025), Flow (Straume, 2024), and Tales from the Magic Garden (Pohádky po babičce, 2025). They will also hear talks and keynotes from renowned Latvian director Signe Baumane (Challenges of an Independent Animated Film Director/Producer in the US and Europe) and Christian Jeune, Director of the Cannes Film Festival’s Film Department (Cannes Film Festival, Animation and Other Stories), who in conversation with Matīss Kaža will dwell on the topic of animated films in the line-up of film festivals.

Baltic Animation Meet-Up programme will be rounded off by expert lectures and a wide range of other RIGA IFF FORUM activities, including networking event, a feature film and series project market, in-depth evaluation session for short films, as well as other happenings tailored to industry professionals. Hosted at cinemas K.Suns and Splendid Palace, the festival’s industry section – a richly packed agenda of events tailored to film professionals – offers a welcoming and well-rounded meeting place for building connections and forging new collaborations. RIGA IFF FORUM events can be attended with an industry accreditation FORUM Pass or Festival & FORUM Pass. More details about RIGA IFF FORUM and its programme: forum.rigaiff.lv.
