RIGA IFF SHOWCASE is a compact, efficient and easy-to-navigate market intended for those who work with creating, funding, or distributing feature length films or series. The market includes a pitching session for diverse feature film and series projects as well as a variety of networking events. RIGA IFF SHOWCASE gives participants an insight into works from the Baltics, Eastern and Central Europe, with the aim to boost co-productions within the region and present projects to buyers from Europe and North America.
In 2026 the event will take place from 23 to 25 October.
The programme is supported by the National Film Centre of Latvia, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia / Mission Latvia and BBRental/BBposthouse.
RIGA IFF SHOWCASE is a compact and upcoming market that is easy to navigate. It is intended for those who work with creating, funding, or distributing feature films or series. The market includes a pitching session for diverse feature film and series projects and networking events. RIGA IFF SHOWCASE gives participants an insight into works from the Baltics as well as Eastern and Central Europe, with the aim to boost co-productions within the region and present projects to buyers from Europe and North America. The edition of 2026 will take place from 23 to 25 October.
Individual meeting sessions for RIGA IFF SHOWCASE participants and audience members, following the pitching session. SHOWCASE Audience members and participants will be able to sign up for one-to-one meetings online, filling in an online form.
Signing up for one-to-ones is open from 18 October until 23 October 16:00 (GMT +3). Individual schedules for each participant will be sent out in the evening of 23 October.

Nadia Maria Oliva is a Senior Programming Manager at MUBI where she leads curation for the streaming platform in the UK and Ireland. Over her decade-long run in the UK, she has developed public, industry and talent-facing programming at the Tate, Netflix, BAFTA, BFI and Film London. Nadia’s film journey began in her hometown of Toronto, Canada where she spent many years on the year-round programming team at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Hugo Rosák is Head of the Industry Programs at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF), where he leads KVIFF Promises, a platform dedicated to showcasing film projects from Central and Eastern Europe in development or production. He is also the co-founder of KVIFF Talents.He also works with the Midpoint Institute’s Feature Launch, consults for the First Cut Lab editing program, and has worked as an expert for the European Commission. He is also Head of Development at Stairway Films, a Prague-based production company, and a member of the European Film Academy. Originally trained in international relations, innovation design and intercultural management, Hugo now channels his energy into championing ambitious, auteur-driven cinema.
Media professional who has worked in TV for more than 20 years, both commercial and public service media organisations. Worked in various positions – starting from news reporter and news presenter at TV3 Latvia, since 2004 at Latvian Television Public Broadcaster, now Latvian Public service Media – as commissioning editor and as Head of Program Department since 2013. Responsible for TV Channels and VOD content policy, quality of content and policy of commissioning/acquisitions. Studied Journalism, Media&Culture Management and Business Management. Has worked in Ukraine and Moldova as an expert in commissioning, programming and TV scheduling.
Valeria Sochyvets is a producer, director, and programme curator. From 2012-2017, she worked with GogolFest as a curator and programme director. In 2015, she co-founded Contemporary Ukrainian Cinema (CUC). Films she has produced and participated in have been awarded at festivals in Rotterdam, Warsaw, Tallinn, Torino, and Sarajevo; they have been screened in Venice, San Sebastián, Clermont-Ferrand among others. From 2018-2026, she served as a Board Member of the Ukrainian Film Academy, and from 2022-2024 as a member of the Ukrainian Oscar Committee. She is a member of the European Film Academy. She has participated in Berlinale Talents, Sarajevo Talents, programmes at the Wajda Film School, and ACE Producers.
Roberts Vinovskis is a Latvian director, producer, and entrepreneur. He studied philosophy at the University of Latvia and began working in the film industry as a camera assistant at the age of 16. In 1995, he founded Studio Locomotive, followed by the film studio Vino Films in 2020. At both studios, he continues to work as a director and producer. Roberts has also founded and developed leading companies in the region for film equipment rental (BBrental), film post-production (BBposthouse), and film restoration (Locomotive Classics). He is a member of the European Film Academy.
Kristīne Simsone is the head of the RIGA IFF SHOWCASE co-production platform. She has been with the festival since its inception, working as a programmer and leading various educational initiatives. Kristīne is also an active film journalist and critic, contributing to major Latvian media outlets and demonstrating an in-depth understanding of film industry trends and developments. She serves on the experts’ panel at the National Film Centre of Latvia. Kristīne is a member of the European Film Academy.
The selection committee of RIGA IFF SHOWCASE hand-picks 10 feature film and series projects to be pitched to an audience of international and local buyers, as well as a jury. Following the pitching session, one-to-one meetings take place, providing opportunities for in-depth discussions with potential partners, buyers, and festival representatives.

A jury of Latvian and international professionals will select the project that will receive a cash prize of EUR 5,000 as well as services from BBposthouse / BBrental worth EUR 10,000.
